Making famous pizzas since 1986, Nicole's is known for their one of a kind pizza. Nicole's also cooks up some tasty chicken tenders and wings which come in numerous mouth watering flavors. It doesn't end there! Fresh salads, wraps, dinners and even home made baked goods. They only have six tables, so it's odd to stand around there waiting for your food. The beverage cooler sports soda, octoberfest, sutter home and gatorade, something for everybody. The walls are decorated with framed pictures of Beirut and Boston. Nicole's has been voted Boston and South End's best pizza, salads, falafels and cheap eats. Also Nicole's has appeared in numerous publications such as the South End News, Boston Phoenix and Boston Herald.

Jae's downtown continues to serve an awe-inspiring and overwhelming variety of pan-Asian foods, from curry dishes to grilled fish to pad Thai to Bim Bab (Jae's not-so-special specialty: rice with vegetables and beef in a Korean hot stone pot), and tops that all with one of Boston's most fresh, creative, and satisfying sushi bar. You could eat here every night of the week and have a different dining experience. Jae's menu includes amusing “designer tidbits” to help you create your own sushi combinations; the one titled “for party animals” fits the overall atmosphere of loud twenty-somethings steeped in hipstertude. The Wine Emporium is a liquor store in the South End neighborhood of Boston. It features an extensive wine collection, as well as liquor and beer selections. This is one of two locations, the other being 474 Columbus Ave. The Wine Emporium has been here in Boston for more than 40 years and continues to serve to Bostonians. They offer over 1000 (yes, 1000) wines to choose from, as well as a large variery of beers(domestic, micro-brews, and imported varieties). You can also find vodka, gin, rum, tequila, etc... at The Wine Emporium. The Hours Are: Monday through Thursday 9am-10pm Friday through Saturday 9am-10:30pm Sundy 12pm-6pm

The Amsterdam Cafe is a quaint cafe in the South End. They serve breakfast, and lunch/dinner items that are cafe style. They have very innovative sandwiches, as well as salads and rollups. Breakfast offered is the traditional egg, bagel and lox, etc... The Amsterdam Cafe also has catering services. Sample menu items include:

• Grilled chicken, ham, swiss cheese, carmalized onions, and dijon mustard ($6.67)
• Rembrant Sandwich; Pastrami, corned beef, swiss cheese, cole slaw, and Russian dressing ($6.67)

The House of Siam has been voted the "Best of Boston" by Boston magazine for the years- 1998, 1999, 2004, 2006! The hours of this restaurant are: Mon-Thu 11:30am-3pm, 4pm-10pm; Fri 11:30am-3pm, 4pm-11pm; Sat 12pm-11pm; Sun 12pm-10pm The House of Siam is an ethnic Thai restaurant. The House of Siam is known for it's exceptional customer service. The prices are moderate- but the food is well worth it!

The Columbus Cafe and Bar is open for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner, and is appropriatly located on Columbus Ave. They have seating available at the bar, in the dining room, and when weather permits, on the patio. The menu here is very broad and covers many types of cusine and ethnicities. Whether you like hanging out at the bar on a friday night, bringing a date to the dining room, and relaxing for Sunday morning brunch, this place has a little bit of everything for everyone.

House of Siam just opened up a second, smaller restaurant in the old Thai Village. The 35-seat South End haunt serves up saucy Thai faves like drunken chicken and pineapple fried rice.

Mela comes to us from the One World Cuisine team who also run Bukhara, Diva, Kashmir, Mantra, and Cafe of India. The lunch buffet is very reasonable for the area: $10 weekdays, $13 weekends. Mela is likely the only Indian restaurant in the South End, but a very welcome addition. The service is friendly to children, but expect tight spaces, no kid cups or kid menus and to emphasize "very very mild spices please"/ They will however store your stroller for you.
